About Him

Brazilian. Bearded badass. Lives in Amsterdam. Software developer that wants to retire and become a photographer/cyclist/vagabond. Usually rational, mostly cocky. Rides things with two wheels (badly). Speaks Portuguese, English and German (even worse than he rides things with two wheels).

About Martina Abagnale

About Her

About Julio & Martina

About Them

We met on a day trip to Bergen op Zoom and Dordrecht in The Netherlands. Back then, we still lived in the same country, both of us had only recently moved. As fate would have it, both had cameras in our hands, what ended up being the perfect ice breaker. It didn't take long for us to become good friends, and then a couple.

We did many other daytrips throughout The Netherlands as friends, and not too long after our first kiss we decided to start seriously traveling. First to neighboring Belgium, then Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, and beyond.

Together, we like eating bloody burgers, drinking strong Belgian beer, and mostly trying to keep it classy. We usually prefer the quiet and cozy of small towns, instead of the busy hustle and bustle of the big cities. We like staying in apartments instead of hotels, so AirBnB is our best friend. About Planning for Serendipity

About This

We decided to start Planning for Serendipity because we wanted to document the things we see on our trips and the moments we share while on the road. There's so much that happens and we just don't want to forget about them. We remember by sharing. The beautiful day outside, reading funny books in a bookshop, the perfect restaurant. It's also a pretty convenient place to share our travel photography.

Also, "Planning for Serendipity" describes the way we travel very accurately. Our planning usually consists of choosing a place we'd like to visit, and just let everything happen. We have found many pleasant things that way, but sometimes it's a bit stressful when we don't know what we're doing. So we want to step up our planning game a bit, and we'll share it here.
